Two men opened fire outside of KFC Sheikhupura which resulted in the death of a 45-year-old worker who was working in the kitchen at the time.
After the incident, he was taken to the hospital but passed away later.
Police got a call around midnight about the incident which took place at KFC Sheikhupura.
The security was also tightened at other outlets of KFC.
Police action after incident at KFC Sheikhupura
The police have yet to arrest the suspects.
The horrific incident took place after series of attacks on KFC outlets across the country.
Recently, Islamic scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani has urged people not to attack such places and do protest and boycott but peacefully.
He stressed that “Islam is a religion of balance. It is not a religion of vandalising [property] or hurting someone by merely getting carried away by emotions.”
Attack on KFC Islamabad
On April 15, KFC E-11 branch in Islamabad was attacked.
A group of men entered the KFC E-11 branch shouting at the employees to immediately close down the branch in order to show support for Palestine.
Attack on KFC Pindi
On April 13, KFC Rawalpindi Saddar branch was attacked.
KFC branches in Lahore and Karachi
KFC branches in DHA of Lahore and Karachi also came under attack.
It is pertinent to mention that KFC is not included in the boycott list of the global Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
The BDS movement is inherently a non-violent movement that calls for the boycott of corporations “complicit in the oppression of Palestinians”.
