A Lahore-bound flight, FL-842 from Karachi, witnessed scary and intense turbulence as the clouds of powerful dust and rainstorms engulfed the city of Lahore today.

Videos of passengers inside the fortunate Lahore flight are going viral on social media, in which the travelers could be heard screaming and making prayers.

It merits a mention that a major national incident was avoided by the skilful pilot of the Lahore flight, which encountered a powerful storm shortly after touching down.

According to media reports, the flight from Karachi to Lahore had already touched the runway at Allama Iqbal International Airport when it experienced incredibly strong winds.

Citizens of twin cities and Lahore were bewildered after they witnessed an intense shift in weather on May 24.

The severe heatwave was suddenly blown away by extreme duststorms, followed by intense rainfall and isolated hailstorms.

Sources reported that the Air traffic control instructed the pilot to abort landing in Lahore and turn the aircraft back to Karachi.

Multiple local and international flights have faced widespread disruption due to the sudden weather change in Islamabad and Lahore – both major hubs of international travelers.

A powerful Lahore dust storm swept across the city on Saturday, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and dark clouds that quickly changed the weather. The sudden storm disrupted normal life and caused major problems for residents. As the Lahore dust storm approached, the sky turned grey and thick clouds covered the city. The strong winds kicked up dust, reducing visibility and making it difficult for people to travel. Soon after, heavy rain followed, flooding streets and causing long traffic jams.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had already issued a warning about changing weather due to a western disturbance. The Lahore dust storm was part of this larger weather system affecting upper parts of the country, including Rawalpindi, Murree, and Peshawar. More rain and storms are expected in the next 24 hours.
