KARACHI: A technical glitch at Karachi airport caused significant delays for international travellers on Saturday morning. The issue, affected the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) immigration system, leading to long queues as passengers arriving at Jinnah International Airport had to wait for manual processing.

The disruption occurred between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM, causing frustration for many passengers. Since the immigration system was down, the passengers had to go through manual processing which further extended their waiting time.

FIA officials at the Karachi airport worked quickly to resolve the technical issue, and the system was fully restored within an hour.

The IT team promptly resolved the issue and by 4:00 AM, the normal immigration process resumed, and passengers were able to move through the airport with minimal delays.

Earlier, an international flight made an emergency landing at the Jinnah International Airport Karachi after a passenger’s health worsened mid-air.

As per sources, the flight was going to Dhaka from Sharjah, when the health of the passenger worsened. The flight pilot sought permission for an emergency landing at the Karachi airport from the ATC.
