WEBDESK: India’s Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has resigned, citing health reasons. However, many believe he was forced out to cover up the Modi government’s failure in the secretive ‘Operation Sindoor’.

Dhankhar, who also serves as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha (Upper House), was active in Parliament all day Monday, the opening of the monsoon session. At around 4 PM, his office announced he would visit Jaipur the next day. Just hours later, the news of his resignation shocked the nation.

In his letter to President Droupadi Murmu, Jagdeep Dhankhar claimed he was stepping down due to health concerns and on doctors’ advice. He requested that his resignation be accepted immediately.

However, many in the opposition have rejected this explanation.

Indian Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s Sudden Exit Raises Serious Questions Amid ‘Operation Sindoor’ Fallout

Senior Congress MP Jairam Ramesh said, “There is no doubt he must look after his health, but something deeper is going on that is not visible to the public.”

Ramesh revealed he was with Jagdeep Dhankhar until 7:30 PM Monday, and had spoken to him earlier on the phone. Ramesh revealed he was with Dhankhar until 7:30 PM Monday, and had spoken to him earlier on the phone.

He urged Dhankhar to reconsider and called on the Prime Minister to intervene. “If Dhankhar changes his mind, the farmers of this country will breathe a sigh of relief,” he said.

Another Congress leader, Atul Londhe, said, “There is definitely something wrong. If he was unwell, he could have resigned before the session started.”

Former Minister and MP Kapil Sibal added, “I’ve known him for 40 years. He’s an active Vice President. I will not speculate, but something isn’t right.”

Anand Dubey, of Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, said, “Why resign suddenly on the first day of Parliament? He could have done it before or after the session. What happened behind closed doors?”

Although Jagdeep Dhankhar had recently received treatment for heart-related issues at AIIMS hospital, he had publicly stated that he planned to serve his full term until 2027. That makes his sudden exit even more suspicious.

Some analysts believe the real reason is his commitment to allow open debate on Operation Sindoor a sensitive military operation that exposed serious failings within India’s security apparatus.

The government, already under fire, could not afford more questions, especially from someone in Dhankhar’s position.

Until a new Vice President is elected, Dhankhar will continue performing his duties. But the damage is done, and India’s leadership is under serious suspicion once again.
