WEBDESK: Legendary martial artist and actor Jackie Chan is making a comeback in the Karate Kid franchise with the upcoming film Karate Kid: Legends. Set to release on May 30, 2025, the movie will bring together two iconic characters – Mr. Han, played by Jackie Chan, and Daniel LaRusso, played by Ralph Macchio.

Jackie Chan’s Role in the New Film

In Karate Kid: Legends, Jackie Chan reprises his role as Mr. Han, the kung fu master from the 2010 Karate Kid reboot. This time, he teams up with Daniel LaRusso to train a new student, Li Fong, played by Ben Wang. The story follows Li Fong, a Chinese teenager who moves to New York City and struggles to fit in. After facing personal challenges, he enters a karate competition to help a friend, leading to an exciting mentorship under both Mr. Han and Daniel.

Bridging the Past and Present

One of the most exciting aspects of the film is how it connects different eras of the Karate Kid franchise. The trailer hints at a possible link between Mr. Han and the late Mr. Miyagi, the legendary sensei from the original movies. In a key moment, Daniel asks Mr. Han if he knew Mr. Miyagi, and his response leaves fans curious about their connection.

A Star-Studded Cast

In addition to Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, the film features actors Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen in undisclosed roles. Directed by Jonathan Entwistle and written by Rob Lieber, Karate Kid: Legends aims to introduce fresh elements while honoring the franchise’s legacy.

With Jackie Chan back in action, fans of martial arts and classic movies have a lot to look forward to when Karate Kid: Legends hits theaters in 2025.
