The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to build pedestrian tracks in Islamabad’s Blue Area and Jinnah Super Market.

The meeting, attended by CDA board members and senior officials from relevant departments, focused on enhancing the accessibility and vibrancy of the Blue Area (G-7/F-7) for both residents and visitors.

During the session, officials provided a comprehensive briefing on key developments, including the construction of well-planned pedestrian pathways, the introduction of electric carts for children and the elderly, and the setup of weekend food stalls featuring top national brands.

Chairman Randhawa underscored the need to complete the Blue Area parking plaza before initiating work on pedestrian tracks. He also instructed authorities to incorporate recreational facilities and install digital screens at pedestrian zone entry and exit points.

Beyond infrastructure improvements, the CDA aims to standardize shop signboard designs, install benches, and place dedicated trash bins for visitors’ convenience. Chairman Randhawa also emphasized the importance of maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and upgrading building facades to improve the area’s visual appeal.

The Engineering Wing has been directed to develop cost-effective, durable, and aesthetically pleasing designs for the pedestrian pathways.

This initiative seeks to transform the Blue Area into a modern, well-organized, and welcoming urban space that caters to all visitors while promoting cleanliness and order.
