WEBDESK: As the Pakistan Super League (PSL) continues in full swing, the Islamabad traffic police plan is being put to the test. Heavy security arrangements and team movements have already caused noticeable traffic congestion on key city routes – especially on the busy Srinagar Highway.

Today, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, a specific traffic route has been set up due to the arrival and departure of PSL cricket teams. According to the Islamabad traffic police plan, traffic will slow down significantly on Srinagar Highway during this period.

Traffic, in the capital city, has been delayed for the past few days because of the ongoing HBL PSL X matches in Rawalpindi stadium.

The Islamabad Traffic Police has urged citizens to use alternate routes to avoid long delays. For those traveling towards Blue Area, Sector F-6, and Sector F-7, the H-8 underpass is recommended. Similarly, travelers heading to Sectors I and H should use the service road via Rawalpindi-Peshawar Road or IJP Road.

Due to the movement of teams, the entry of heavy traffic into Islamabad has also been temporarily banned. This move is part of the Islamabad traffic police plan to ensure safety and reduce further road blockages.

Multiple reports from commuters indicate that traffic congestion has already worsened since the PSL tournament began, especially during team transfers. Cars are seen moving slowly, and frustration among drivers is rising.

To help guide citizens, traffic police teams will be stationed at key locations across the city. Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider has advised people to leave 20 minutes earlier than usual to avoid delays.

For real-time updates, citizens are encouraged to follow the Islamabad Traffic Police social media pages or call their helpline at 1915 for assistance.

The Islamabad traffic police plan aims to maintain order and minimize inconvenience, but the situation remains challenging due to the ongoing cricket season.

The Jamaat-e-Islami Gaza March alongside these traffic movements are expected to cause significant traffic delays for commuters today. As such, people should plan their movements accordingly.
