Islamabad Traffic Police has announced specific traffic closures on April 17 as part of security arrangements for the inauguration ceremony of the Murree Underpass.
According to the issued traffic advisory, the road from Kashmir Chowk to Bhara Kahu will remain closed for all types of traffic from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Wednesday.
Police officials have advised commuters traveling towards Murree or Bhara Kahu to use alternative routes during this time.
Motorists heading to Murree or Bhara Kahu can take the route from Kashmir Chowk via Rawal Dam Chowk, Park Road, Bani Gala, and Korang Road to reach their destination.
Similarly, traffic coming from Bhara Kahu towards Islamabad or Rawalpindi can travel via Korang Road, Bani Gala, Park Road, Rawal Dam Chowk, Faizabad, and Kashmir Chowk.
The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) has appealed to the public to allow at least 20 extra minutes for their commute to avoid any potential delays and to strictly follow the instructions issued by the traffic police.
The police have assured that all necessary resources are being deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow during the event.
