Islamabad Express derails near Muridke, dozens injured

A passenger train, the Islamabad Express, which was travelling from Lahore to Rawalpindi, met a terrible accident near Kala Shah Kaku and Murdke today evening.

The accident occurred on Tuesday night and according to initial reports, 6 bogies of the train have derailed.

Media reports have suggested that around 25 people have been injured and no deaths have been reported yet.

After the accident, passengers are busy with rescue activities on their own. The train was going from Lahore to Islamabad at the time of the accident.

Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has directed the CEO and DS Railways to reach the accident site. According to railway sources, the speed of the train at the time of the accident was 105 km per hour.
