Pakistan Expresses Solidarity With Iran After Us Attack

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif called Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian after the recent US attack on Iran.

According to PTV, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast solidarity with the people and government of Iran.

The Prime Minister voiced serious concerns about the US targeting of Iranian facilities protected under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards. He described these strikes as clear violations of international law and the IAEA Statute.

Highlighting Iran’s legitimate right to self-defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter, PM Shehbaz emphasised the urgent need to return to dialogue and diplomacy as the only viable way forward.

Ishaq Dar meets Iranian Foreign Minister in Turkey

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, met with Iranian Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, today on the sidelines of the 51st OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Istanbul.

In a post on X, Dar shared photos with the Iranian Foreign Minister and said he reiterated Pakistan’s strong condemnation of Israel’s “unjustified and unlawful” attacks on Iran.

“I reiterated Pakistan’s strong condemnation of Israel’s unjustified and unlawful attacks on Iran, as well as the US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. I reaffirmed our unwavering support for Iran’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and its right to self-defense under the UN Charter,” he said.

China strongly condemns US strike on Iran

 China has “strongly condemned” the US attack on Iran.

China’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement, “The actions of the US seriously violate the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and international law, and have exacerbated tensions in the Middle East.”

“China calls on the parties to the conflict, Israel in particular, to reach a ceasefire as soon as possible, ensure the safety of civilians, and start dialogue and negotiation.”
