United States (US) Donald Trump has claimed that Iran-Israel ceasefire will last forever.
Talking to a news channel, he said that both countries will “never be shooting at each other again”.
However, at the time of publishing this story, neither Iran nor Israel had confirmed the ceasefire from their side.
Asked how long the ceasefire would last, Trump replied, “I think the ceasefire is unlimited. It is going to go forever.”
“It is a great day for America. It is a great day for the Middle East. I am very happy to have been able to get the job done,” he said. “A lot of people were dying and it was only going to get worse. It would have brought the whole Middle East down.”
It is pertinent to mention that when the ceasefire between Pakistan and India took place, Trump was the first to announce it and continues to take credit for it.
Iran-Israel ceasefire: Still attacks going on
As of now, Israel continues to bomb Iran.
President Trump had said the ceasefire would begin six hours after the announcement, yet Israeli airstrikes have only intensified.
