Indian media spins cheap Bollywood script, says Pahalgam suspect was ‘SSG commando’

Like cheap Bollywood flop scripts, the Indian media keeps churning out new tales to protect the dwindling popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

India’s NDTV is now claiming that the prime suspect behind the Pahalgam attack on April 22 was “a former commando of the Pakistan Army’s elite unit – Special Service Group (SSG).”

Even though the timing of these sudden encounters casts severe doubt on the legitimacy of the government’s claims, Indian media is unsuccessfully trying to shape a narrative that the so-called militants were members of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

Multiple experts have stated that if any real proof existed that directly linked any suspect to the Pakistan Armed Forces, then it would be an international incident.

“The Indian government and the Indian media know this well, and their only objective is to create an echo-chamber to satiate the extremist BJP supporter,” said one expert.

Furthermore, the pictures and sketches of the “killed suspect” being shared by Indian media were earlier dismissed by the Indian Express as false in the June 23 news article.

In the 23 June article, the Indian Express wrote, “Two days after the April 22 Pahalgam attack, the Jammu and Kashmir police had released three sketches – Pakistan nationals Hashim Musa and Ali Bhai alias Talha, and Kashmir local Adil Hussain Thoker. Sources in the central agency now say the three men in the sketches are not the Pahalgam attackers.

That 23 June news article in The Indian Express claimed that “one of the attackers is believed to be Suleiman Shah” and the sketches initially forwarded were false.

As if a cheap Bollywood script has gone wrong on all logic, today the NDTV claimed that “The security forces avenged the attack by killing Hashim Musa, alias Suleiman Shah, in an encounter near Srinagar along with two terrorists today.”

In the earlier article, the Indian Express clarified that Hashim Musa along with two other suspects “are not the Pahalgam attackers.”

Today, NDTV has claimed that Hashim Musa’s alias is Suleiman Shah and he was indeed the man from those sketches produced by the Kashmir police following the Pahalgam attack.
