India qualify for Champions Trophy 2025 final after defeating Australia

India has won the semi-final of Champions Trophy 2025 against Australia by five wickets, qualifying for the finals on Tuesday in the India vs Australia match.

In the first semi final between India vs Australia, Virat Kohli remained the top batsman for his side as he made 84 runs while Mohammed Shami stood out as he took three important Aussi wickets.

Australians managed to give the target of 265 runs to India, who completed the target in the last over.

It merits a mention that this is India’s third consecutive entry into Champion Trophy finals. Indian side faced early hiccups after Shubman Gill was taken out by Ben Dwarshuis in the fifth over. Similarly, Rohit Sharma was taken by lbw by Connolly in the India vs Australia semi final.

Rohit, however, managed to score 28 score with three fours and one six after being taken out on 29th ball. Then came the solid partnership of Kohli and Shreyas Iyer, which earned the team 91 runs until Iyer was taken out by Adam Zampa.

Iyer managed to score 45 runs for 62 balls while making three boundaries during his batting. Kohli was taken out in the 43rd over while remaining the top scorer for India.

Following his wicket, Hardik Pandya and Rahul’s partnership made 34 runs with Pandya scoring 28 off 24 deliveries and Rahul making 42 off 34 balls.

For the Aussi side, Nathan Ellis and Zampa took two wickets each while Dwarshuis and Connolly took one each.

Australia chose to bat first while making the 264 runs before the entire team getting bowled out in 49.3 overs.

Smith and Carey led the team to make many boundaries. It should be highlighted that Australians faced early hiccups as well when Cooper Connolly was taken out by Shami in 3rd over.
