In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Malakand Division, security forces killed nine India-backed terrorists and arrested eight others during a major operation.
According to the ISPR, the operation was carried out from July 16th to 20th based on intelligence reports. It was a joint effort involving the army, police, Levies, CTD, and local administration. The operation was launched following credible information about the presence of militants belonging to a group supported by the Indian intelligence agency.
Over the four-day operation, the forces effectively cordoned off the area and targeted terrorist hideouts. Intense exchanges of fire led to the killing of nine terrorists and the arrest of eight.
Two hideouts used by the terrorists were destroyed, and a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered.
Locals expressed satisfaction over the successful operation and reaffirmed their trust and cooperation with state institutions in the fight against terrorism. A sanitisation operation is still underway in the area in case more terrorists are present.
According to the ISPR, security forces and law enforcement agencies remain fully committed to eliminating India-backed terrorism from the country in coordination with the nation.
Earlier, a terrorist attack targeted a bus carrying artists on the Quetta-Karachi road. The cowardly act prompted a swift and strong response from Pakistan’s security forces.
Special Forces launched a thorough operation in the area. At least four terrorists were killed during close-range encounters.
Weapons, ammunition, and flags belonging to BLA were found at the site that were recovered by security officials. Aviation units remain alert, standby to assist when required.
