Former Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, who was the Chief of Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) from 2015 to 2018, revealed a core philosophy of Pakistani air warriors in a documentary.
The retired Chief of Air Staff remarked, “One basic mistake that the Indians committed both at political and military or strategic levels was wrongly assuming that we would not respond.”
“This is not an option for us,” explained the former PAF Chief, affirming that Pakistan stands ready at all times to respond to any Indian misadventure.
“I say that very clearly: This is an inconceivable idea and absolutely impossible that India thinks about attacking Pakistan or attacks Pakistan and we wouldn’t respond. This [not responding] does not exist in our dictionary.”
He added, “We’ve made this very clear to everyone at both military and political levels. You want to try us? You’ve seen the results.”
Ex-Air Chief Sohail Aman attested to the professionalism of Pakistan Air Force (PAF), saying, “We just saw the massing up of forces. We deployed the air force in a record 24 hours, and we were ready for war. And I think we were very clear that if you want to fight, then let’s fight. However, some sanity prevailed.”
The senior official explained the gaps in Indian military and political objectives, arguing, “They not only made a strategic mistake in attacking us after Pulwama [2019]. But they didn’t even respond when we shot down their jets. Where is that strategic thought process? They wanted to show aggression and bully us but couldn’t even respond when we shot down their jets and purposefully kept the temperatures low.”
