In yet another unpopular decision, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has again increased the toll tax by 15 to 50 percent for all its highways and motorways without providing any reason.
It should be highlighted that this increase in tax rates by NHA comes for the second time in less than three months. Previously, the NHA increased its rates for toll tax on January 5.
The new toll rates by NHA will be applicable to all travelers from April 1 putting extra burden on commuters and travelers across the country.

Under the new rates for toll tax, travelers using cars will pay Rs70 instead of old rates of January 2025 at Rs60.
Commuters using vans and jeeps will have to pay Rs150 instead of Rs100. And the toll for buses has been increased to Rs250 from previous Rs200.
Toll rates have been increased for 2 & 3 axle trucks as well at Rs300 under new tax rates from previous Rs250.
