A viral TikTok post by user jansher2600 has claimed that the federal government announced a nationwide holiday for Wednesday (tomorrow).
In the post, there is a screenshot depicting news ticker from Geo News amidst a backdrop of anchors confirming that the government has issued a notification of holiday for all private and public sector institutions on the instructions of Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif. The TikTok post has already garnered more than 1 million views.

Explanation
The government has not issued any notification for a day off on April 16. Neither the federal cabinet nor the interior ministry has issued any notification.Â
Moreover, the TikTok user who uploaded the video on April 15 had also previously uploaded the same video on 29 October, 2024.
Interestingly, it was also Tuesday on 29 October, 2024 and the video claimed that there would be a nationwide holiday on Wednesday (2024). It merits a mention that the previous post’s claim was also false. The 2024 post has been viewed by 3 million people.
There has been no information regarding any kind of holiday tomorrow from the government. The public and private sectors will continue to operate as per usual routine.
