WEBDESK: The magic is returning! HBO has officially announced the new actors set to play Harry, Ron, and Hermione in its upcoming Harry Potter TV series. After an intense global casting process that saw over 30,000 auditions, the lead trio has finally been selected.
Dominic McLaughlin will take on the iconic role of Harry Potter, while Arabella Stanton has been cast as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout will play the lovable Ron Weasley. These fresh faces are set to bring a new energy to the magical world we all know and love.
The casting process was led by Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, who searched high and low for the perfect fit. Showrunner Francesca Gardiner and executive producer Mark Mylod shared their excitement, saying, “The talent of these three young actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen.”
The Harry Potter team is planning to start filming for the new series next summer. Just as J.K. Rowling wrote, the series will be arranged with each season based on one of the seven books. Rowling has a role as an executive producer so that the series reflects her magical books.
