WEBDESK: Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf has been added to the national ODI squad for the upcoming series against New Zealand. Initially part of the T20 squad, he was set to return home but has now been asked by team management to stay back and join the 50-over format.
The decision came after the completion of the Pakistan vs. New Zealand T20 series, with the team moving from Wellington to Napier for the ODI matches. Along with Haris Rauf, wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan has also been included in the squad. Both players were originally selected for T20 matches only but will now be part of the ODI setup.
Other Players Joining the ODI Squad
Apart from Haris Rauf, several other players have joined the squad in Napier. These include Salman Ali Agha, Khushdil Shah, Irfan Khan Niazi, Abrar Ahmed, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Muhammad Ali. Nine key players, including captain Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam, were already present in Napier before the team’s arrival.
Meanwhile, eight players from the T20 squad – including Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Umair Bin Yousuf, Hassan Nawaz, Mohammad Haris, Abbas Afridi, Abdul Samad, and Jahandad Khan – are returning to Pakistan via Dubai.
