Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has stated that Pakistanis can perform Hajj at lower rates compared to other countries.

Addressing a Hajj training workshop, the minister also talked about this year’s Hajj.

He said that the second phase of the Hajj training sessions and that the vaccination of pilgrims will begin on April 20.

It is pertinent to mention that around 90,000 Pakistanis will perform Hajj this year under government’s scheme.

The Hajj package cost between Rs11,50,000 for short-term pilgrims and Rs10,50,000 for long-term pilgrims this 2025.

Hajj flight operations under the government scheme are expected to begin from the last week of April.

Hajj takes place in the month of Dhul Hijjah, the 12th and final month of the Islamic calendar. In 2025, Hajj is scheduled to begin on the evening of Friday, June 6, 2025, and conclude on the evening of Wednesday, June 11, 2025. However, the exact dates may vary depending on moon sightings.

Visa problem ahead of Hajj

Earlier, Saudi Arabia temporarily suspended Umrah visas for 14 countries including Pakistan.

However, government sources rejected the social media reports that Saudi Arabia banned Umrah visas for Pakistanis.

“Some false information is being spread on social media that Saudi Arabia has banned visas from 14 countries and has also banned Umrah visas, which include Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, etc,” stated the sources.
