WEBDESK: In a bold move to attract more electric car buyers in Pakistan, GuGo Motors has announced a major price cut for its GuGo Box EV lineup. The company has reduced the prices of all three variants by Rs10.5 lacs, making the GuGo Box EV more affordable for customers.
While the company cited limited stock and new booking availability, the move comes shortly after what appears to be the same vehicle re-entered the market – this time as the Dongfeng BOX, introduced by Chawla Green Motors.
This pricing shuffle was set into motion back in February, when GuGo Motors introduced the compact EV as the “GuGo Box.” A few weeks later, the same vehicle appeared again under the “Dongfeng Box” name, this time launched by the Chawla Group.
New Prices for GuGo Box EV
The GuGo Box EV is available in three variants – E1 Eco, E2 Plus, and E3 Premium. After the recent price drop, the updated rates are:
- E1 Eco: From Rs. 6,700,000 to Rs. 5,650,000
- E2 Plus: From Rs. 7,300,000 to Rs. 6,250,000
- E3 Premium: From Rs. 7,700,000 to Rs. 6,650,000
Bookings for the GuGo Box EV are now open, and the company has promised vehicle delivery within April for those who reserve early with a Rs. 500,000 down payment.
Features and performance
The GuGo Box EV is a 5-door hatchback and offers solid performance across all its versions. The E1 variant comes with a 31.4 kWh LFP battery with 94hp and 180 Nm torque, while the E2 and E3 come with a bigger 42.3 kWh LFP battery with 94hp and 180 Nm torque. On a full charge, the car can travel up to 430 km, depending on the model.
- Vehicle warranty – 2 years or 100,000 kilometers (Standard)
- Battery warranty – 4 years or 150,000 kilometers (Standard)
With standard safety and convenience features being offered such as Anti-lock braking, dual airbags, Electronic stability control, pre-tension seat-belts, rear radar, and tire pressure monitoring, the GuGo Box EV is a convenient option for anyone looking to get an electric vehicle. The E2 and E3 variants include additional features as well.
With a top speed of 140 km/h and fast charging support (up to 80% in just 30 minutes), the GuGo Box EV is a strong option for city and highway driving alike.
A step towards EV growth
The price drop of the GuGo Box EV is seen as a step toward promoting electric vehicles in Pakistan. As fuel prices remain high, and interest in EVs grows, GuGo Motors seems to be targeting a wider market with this bold pricing strategy.
