In an interested development, the federal government has decided to send a high-level delegation to the United States for negotiations on the tariffs imposed on Pakistan.
A high-level huddle took place in Islamabad under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to review and analyse the US tariffs imposed on Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Ahad Khan Cheema, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Pervaiz Malik, Advisor to the Prime Minister Syed Tauqir Shah, Tariq Fatemi, and Haroon Akhtar.
According to details, the high-level meeting suggested that Pakistan would send a delegation to the United States to discuss trade relations.
Under the instructions of PM, the delegation would also include major business figures and prominent exporters.
The statement said that the Prime Minister has tasked the delegation with determining a course of action after negotiations on the new tariff.
In addition, the Prime Minister was presented with the report of the Steering Committee and Working Group regarding the US tariffs on Pakistan.
Murtaza Solangi while appearing on Azaad Siasat’s podcast on April 7, revealed that the federal government is in constant communication with the US administration over the tariffs issue.
“According to my information, Pakistan is in contact with the Trump administration at the highest level and good news will come soon in this regard,” he stated.

PSX showed recovery on Tuesday following Monday’s stock market crash as the markets suffered the effects of US President Donald Trump’s retaliatory tariffs.
On Monday, the PSX experienced the bloody Monday as investors felt selling pressure following the global stock market crash. However, the Pakistan Stock Exchange showed strong recouping from yesterday’s stock market crash.
Investors showed great confidence and responded positively to some signs of stabilization in global markets.
On Tuesday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s (PSX) benchmark KSE-100 Index gained 622.95 points in totality.
