ISLAMABAD: Interior Ministry on Monday approved deployment of Pakistan Army and Rangers troops for the security of the10th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The 10th edition f PSL will start from April 11 in Multan, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi featuring six teams.
The interior ministry, in exercise of the powers conferred under Article 245 of the Constitution is pleased to authorize deployment of personnel of Pakistan Army and Rangers under Sections 4 and 5 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997 for security and protection duties to avoid any untoward incident, the notification stated.
They will be deployed for the assistance of police.
The Cabinet Division, provincial governments and the chief commissioner Islamabad had made requests regarding the appointment.

The 10th edition of PSL will start on April 11 and the final will be played on May 18. The first match will be played between Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Friday. The final will be held in Lahore on May 18.
