The Pakistani federal government has announced a three-day Eid holiday from March 31st to April 2nd.
Eid-ul-fitr is expected on March 31st in Pakistan.
Notification regarding three-day Eid Holiday

“In continuation of Cabinet Division’s circular No. 10-01/2024-Min-II dated 23rd December, 2024 regarding Public and Optional holidays for the year 2025, it is notified that the Prime Minister has been pleased to declare 31st March to 2nd April, 2025 (Monday to Wednesday) as public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr,” read the notification issued by the Cabinet division regarding Eid holiday.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will sit together to sight the Shawwal moon.
The sighting of Shawwal moon would mark the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan in Pakistan.
Diverse experts constitute the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee including religious scholars, meteorological experts, and other who will deliberate on testimonies received from across the country.
According to General of the council, the new moon will be born on Saturday, March 29, at 3:58pm PKT. By sunset on Sunday, it will be visible to the naked eye.
Pakistan witnessed the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan on March 2ns, as the Ramadan moon was not sighted on February 28.
Last year, the notification regarding the holidays was issued on April 4th, six days before Eid-ul-Fitr.
