WEBDESK: The federal government has announced revised working hours for government offices during the holy month of Ramadan.

The establishment division has issued a notification that outlines revised government office timings in Ramadan.

According to the notification, government offices working on a five-day work week will function from 9am to 3pm. For offices observing a six-day work week, their timings will be from 9am to 2pm.

Additionally, on Fridays, all government offices will operate from 9am to 12:30pm to accomodate the Friday prayer break.

These changes in the Government office timings in Ramadan have been implemented to accommodate the religious and fasting obligations of employees during the holy month. These revised Government office timings in Ramadan will continue until the end of the month.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, got together in Peshawar on Friday to determine the sighting of the Ramadan moon.

Maulana Azad announced later in a press conference that the Ramadan moon was not sighted anywhere in Pakistan, which means that the the country would be observing their first fast on Sunday.

Zonal committees across major cities, including Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Islamabad, also held meetings to assess moon sighting reports.
