Ahead of Ramadan, fruit prices have risen significantly in Pakistan.

According to reports, the prices of fruits including bananas, apples, oranges, and strawberries have increased.

It is pertinent to mention the prices may vary from market to market.

Fruits are a high demand during Ramadan in Pakistan as desis are obsessed with fruit chaat (a mixture of fruits with a bit of sugar and spices).

Apart from this, the price of eggs has increased from Rs230 to Rs272 per dozen in a few days. The price of mutton has risen to Rs2,500 per kg, while beef has gone up from Rs1,100 to Rs1,400 per kg.

Regarding this, the leader of the Consumer Association said that the administration is acting as a silent spectator. According to him, the official price list is not being followed, and profiteers are charging prices at their own will.
