As the world witnesses multiple Indian diplomatic and military setbacks, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has resorted yet again to attack Pakistan as rumours float that he may be sacked in the coming days.

In a Newsweek interview, Jaishankar called last month’s Pahalgam attack a form of “economic war” as it hurt the tourism industry of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

He said it aimed to spark religious violence. Victims were allegedly asked to state their faith before being killed.

Calling the debacle called “Operation Sindoor”, Jaishankar claimed that India targeted terrorist infrastructure inside Pakistan on the night of May 6-7.

India continues to peddle this lie, which no country buys after Pakistan transparently exposed how India deliberately targeted civilians inside Pakistan, killing more than 50 people, including women and children.

In fact, one of the mobile launchers of Pakistani missiles that would later be launched against Indian military targets had a banner paying homage to martyred children of Pakistan.

Under Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, Pakistan launched a series of missile strikes targeting military bases deep inside India.

India agreed to ceasefire with Pakistan while its media and government leaders were calling for an “all-out war against Pakistan.”

US President Donald Trump took credit for brokering the ceasefire between the two nuclear-armed countries, warning that the region nearly avoided a major catastrophe.

Since then, Modi government’s and Indian media’s lies have been exposed as Pakistan hurries to secure streak of diplomatic successes while India continues to isolate itself.

The opposition criticizes Jaishankar for diplomatic failures after Operation Sindoor. The RSS and Sangh Parivar pressure him for not meeting nationalist goals.

Sources in New Delhi say his position is at risk. Jaishankar’s focus on Pakistan aims to boost his image. Critics call his statements desperate and empty.

Indian ex-military officer and renowned defence analyst Pravin Sawhney also took to X (formerly Twitter) to report that Jaishankar might be shown the door by the Modi government after the recent spectacular Indian diplomatic failures
