Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary, Shahab Ali Shah, has taken steps to ensure transparency in the upcoming board examinations by directing all deputy commissioners to assign assistant commissioners, rather than tehsildars, to oversee exam halls and prevent any outside interference.
He also stressed the importance of implementing strict measures to combat cheating.
During a high-level meeting, which included the Secretary of Education, Commissioners, Chairmen of educational boards, and District Education Officers via video link, Shahab Ali Shah highlighted the need for fairness and merit in matriculation exams. He pointed out that these exams play a crucial role in shaping students’ futures and reiterated the government’s focus on educational reforms.
“Education is a key sector, and we must take every possible action to eradicate cheating from our examination system,” he stated.
In his efforts to ensure fairness, the Chief Secretary ordered that exam-related duties be assigned based on merit. He also announced that the Education Monitoring Authority (EMA), district administration, and Special Branch would be tasked with overseeing the examination process.
Moreover, CCTV cameras will be installed where required, and officers of Grade 18 and above will be deployed for monitoring the exams.
