ISLAMABAD: Weather in Islamabad and Rawalpindi took a dramatic turn on Tuesday when it started raining around 4:30pm, bringing much-needed relief from the rising temperature. Thunderstorm and rainfall hit Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) had issued an early warning about the possibility of heavy rain and storms in the region.
As the hailstorm hit Islamabad, Rawalpindi, several areas including F sectors, G sectors, Bahria Town, and DHA-2 experienced loud thunder and lightning before the storm started. The hailstorm and rainfall swept through these neighborhoods, surprising many residents.

Many areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are facing power outages due to the weather situation. Spring Apartments, Airport Housing Society, Soan Gardens, Dhok Kahalan Khan, Awan Town, Kuri Road, Zaraj housing schemes and Gulshanabad have no electricity due to the rain.
Islamabad is expected to have warm and cloudy weather with a temperature of 34°C and a RealFeel of 33°C. There’s a 47% chance of rain. Winds will blow from the east-southeast at 19 km/h, with stronger gusts up to 26 km/h. Humidity is moderate at 36%, and the air may feel slightly humid. Visibility is good at 16 km, and the sky is mostly cloudy with a high cloud ceiling of 7,500 metres. The UV level is low, and overall brightness will be dull. Air quality is poor, so outdoor activities should be limited if possible.

Winds will come from the east-southeast at 19 km/h, with gusts up to 26 km/h. Humidity will stay at 36 per cent, and the air may feel slightly humid. Visibility will be good at 16 km, and clouds will cover about 73 per cent of the sky with a high ceiling at 7,500 metres. The UV index will be low, and the air quality is expected to remain poor during the evening hours.
