WEBDESK: A teenager in the UK has passed his driving test on the first attempt after learning entirely from YouTube. He also saved nearly £1,000 (about 374,000 Pakistani rupees) by not taking formal lessons.
The 17-year-old, Ollie Bird, chose to teach himself how to drive by watching online tutorials instead of hiring an instructor.
Ollie watched around 30 hours of YouTube videos. These tutorials explained everything from road rules and parking to clutch control and reverse driving.
The videos featured experienced driving instructors offering step-by-step guidance.
In addition to videos, Ollie practised driving skills using go-kart racing and a computer driving simulator. This helped him improve his control over steering, braking, and acceleration.
Thanks to his hard work, Ollie passed his driving test on the first attempt. Just three weeks later, he removed his learner plates and is now driving confidently.
At first, Ollie’s parents were unsure about this learning method. But Ollie proved that with dedication and smart learning, it was possible to succeed without traditional lessons.
Driving lessons in the UK usually cost between £1,200 to £1,600. By using free online resources, Ollie saved at least £1,000 to £1,300.
His story is now being shared as an example of how modern learning tools like YouTube can offer real-life benefits.
