RAWALPINDI: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan on Tuesday engaged in a heated discussion with Imran Khan’s lawyers.

According to reports, the heated exchange took place when Khan’s legal councel was leaving the Adiala Jail after meeting with the founder PTI.

Aleema Khan allegedly stated: “No lawyer without a responsibility will be allowed inside. What kind of drama are you all playing? Everyone comes to the jail just to meet him. Our brother is inside, we love him, and we would die for him.”

The exchange took place between Nadeem Haider Panjotha and Aleema Khan as she voiced her frustrations. She also scolded the lawyers about their efforts to ensure Imran Khan’s access to his children and other necessary items.

“Only Salman Akram and Salman Safdar are allowed to file petitions,” she stated asserting that no other lawyers were allowed to file any petitions on their behalf.

“My brother is not being allowed to speak with his children, and his books aren’t reaching him. Naeem Punjota, you are the focal person for Bushra Bibi, who do you meet with?”

Aleema Khan took offence when Nadeem Panjotha responded that he had not met with anyone and he could share his interactions as directed.

“Don’t be rude to me,” retorted Khan’s sister at the entrance of Adiala Jail on Tuesday. Panjotha further stated that he wasn’t being rude and had faced charges himself but Aleema Khan told him to keep quiet.

It should be noted that Naeem has since took to X (formerly Twitter) to dismiss the reports, saying: “All these reports about a clash between me and Aleema Khan are greatly exaggerated. Aleema Khan is our elder and holds the same place as a mother would. Do not believe in the fake propaganda.”

Jang News, however, reported that the lawyers complained to Imran Khan about Aleema Khan’s harsh behaviour. The founder PTI expressed his displeasure over Aleema’s actions today while assuring Panjotha that he would talk with her sister.
