WEBDESK: Popular singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh made his first public appearance in Mumbai after facing backlash for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3.
Diljit was seen at the Mumbai airport. He smiled, folded his hands, and waved at photographers. He wore a white t-shirt, jeans, and a red turban. This was his first public outing since the controversy began.

Hania Aamir’s Casting Sparks Outrage in India
The row began when Hania Aamir was cast as the lead in Sardaar Ji 3. Many in India objected to a Pakistani actress being part of the film. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reacted strongly.
FWICE issued a non cooperation order against Diljit. He was banned from working on new film projects. The move was widely criticised as extreme and politically motivated.
Producer Bhushan Kumar stepped in. He requested an exception so Diljit could complete Border 2. FWICE agreed, but only for this film. The ban on other new projects still stands.

Arnab Goswami attacks Diljit Dosanjh, acts like he doesn’t know Hania Aamir
Indian right-wing journalist, Arnab Goswami attacks Diljit Dosanjh, a globally celebrated singer and actor from his own country.
Not only did he rant about Diljit, but he also deliberately mispronounced the name of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, who enjoys a strong fanbase in India and now she has a new movie with Diljit so Arnab has a problem
Arnab questioned why Bollywood works with Pakistani artists, as if he is ever cared to understand art. He falsely claimed that Bollywood itself is banning the film, when in reality, the government banned Hania and other Pakistani actors after the Pahalgam incident.
Throughout the video, he criticised the film in the name of nationalism and dragged in the Pahalgam attack, which India blames on Pakistan without presenting any evidence.
“Do not do this Karan Johar act on me,” he snapped, targeting Diljit. He also dragged Pakistani actor Fawad Khan into the debate, recalling how his film was delayed after the same incident.
Bollywood’s Double Standards?
Many critics say this shows India’s growing intolerance toward cross border collaboration. Despite Pakistan’s artists gaining love internationally, India’s film bodies continue to act with hostility.
