These countries will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday

Saudi Arabia announced the sighting of Shawwal moon on Saturday, hence, the country will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on March 30 (Sunday).

Including Saudi, Turkey, UAE, Palestine, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon (Sunni authorities) Canada, USA and others will celebrate Eid today.

However, some countries will be celebrating Eid on Monday. Here is a list of them:

In Pakistan, Awami National Party (ANP) announced that Eid ul-Fitr will be celebrated today.

In his statement, Senator Aimal Wali Khan said that just like Ramadan, Eid will also be observed with the Muslim world, as the Shawwal moon has been sighted.

So, in some part of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Eid will be observed today.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. The “festival of breaking the fast”, is celebrated at the end of the fasting month of Ramadan by Muslims worldwide.

There are about 1.9 billion Muslims worldwide, approximately 25 per cent of the world’s population.

Indonesia has the world’s highest Muslim population, with some 240 million Muslims living in the country. Pakistan is second with about 225 million Muslims, followed by India (211 million), Bangladesh (155 million), and Nigeria (111 million).
