WEBDESK: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Thursday that South-African all-rounder Corbin Bosch has been banned from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for one year after he breached his contract to join the IPL.
Bosch, 30, was drafted by Peshawar Zalmi in January’s PSL player auction but later opted to play in another league instead. PCB have also imposed an undisclosed financial penalty on the player.
Bosch was picked by Peshawar Zalmi during the PSL 2025 draft held in January. However, in March, he informed the team that he would not be available, choosing instead to join Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Since the IPL and PSL 2025 are happening at the same time this year, players can only commit to one league.
In a statement released by the PCB, Bosch apologised for his decision, saying he took “full responsibility” for his actions.
“I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the HBL Pakistan Super League and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi, and the wider cricket community,” Bosch said.Â
Corbin Bosch will not be available for the next season of the PSL but at this moment, it is unknown whether that ban carries over to other leagues.
Bosch, who has played in various T20 leagues worldwide, said he hoped to return to the PSL in the future.
“This has been a hard lesson, but I am committed to learning from this experience,” he said.
In Bosch’s absence, Peshawar Zalmi quickly signed another South African, George Linde, as a replacement. The team is now focusing on building strong momentum for PSL 2025 despite the setback.
