Police constable behind high-end car snatchings in Karachi

KARACHI: In a shocking development, authorities have arrested a police constable, Rana Kashif, who is the leader of a gang responsible for stealing luxury cars in Karachi.

The Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) has uncovered that a police constable was involved in infamous robberies of cars.

According to details, this gang was also responsible for robbing the expensive car of a famous TV actress.

During investigation, law enforcement agencies also found weapons and drugs from the suspect. The prime suspect has reportedly confessed to snatching over 20 high-end cars from Karachi’s elite neighborhoods.

He also revealed that the stolen cars were transported to Balochistan where these cars were sold with the help of his accomplices.

Interestingly, the suspect, Rana Kashif, was deployed at the Foreign Security Cell (FSC). According to Karachi Police’s official page, the Foreign Security Cell (FSC) is a specialised unit of Karachi police “dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of foreign nationals in the city.”

“This unit focuses on providing protection to expatriates, diplomats, and visitors, addressing any potential threats they may face. The FSC collaborates closely with foreign embassies and consulates to tackle security concerns and facilitate safe stays for foreigners.”

Kashif was involved in multiple car robberies including from Korangi on June 26, 2027 and from DHA Karachi on October 7, 2024.

Furthermore, a well-known TV actress became the victim of crime when her Toyota Fortuner was snatched by this notorious gang from 26th Street, Khayaban-e-Mohafiz, DHA.
