Chances of Shawwal moon being sighted tomorrow high: SUPARCO

Pakistan’s Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has revealed that that the chances of Shawwal moon’s visibility is high tomorrow.

According to SUPARCO, the Shawwal moon was formed on Saturday at 03:58PM today. By tomorrow’s sunset, the moon will be approximately 27 hours old, making its sighting in Pakistan highly likely.

Meanwhile, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is set to meet tomorrow to perform the moon sighting ceremony.

Zonal committees across the country will also participate in their respective cities to confirm the moon sighting and will provide testimonies to the main committee.

If the moon is sighted, Pakistan will celebrate Eidul Fitr on Monday.

Furthermore, Shawwal moon has not been sighted in India. According to reports, India along with Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunie have all not sighted the Shawwal moon tonight.

India has officially announced that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in India on Monday (March 31).

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates have announced the sighting of Shawwal moon on Saturday, making Eidul Fitr in these countries tomorrow.
