Youm-e-Takbeer holiday
Youm-e-Takbeer serves as a powerful reminder of Pakistan’s resolve to safeguard its independence and security. The day is marked by ceremonies and events honoring the scientists and military figures behind the country’s historic nuclear achievement.
Youm-e-Takbeer commemorates the nuclear tests conducted in Chagai, Balochistan, marked by the symbolic declaration of “Allah-o-Akbar.” With these tests, Pakistan became the seventh nuclear-armed nation in the world and the first Muslim-majority country to achieve this milestone.
Under the leadership of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the tests took place, despite much pressure and economic risks from the world.
His move came in direct response to India’s nuclear tests earlier that same month, aimed at preserving strategic balance in the region.
