At least 100 people were hospitalised after they had food at a wedding in Khyber Paktunkhwa’s (KP) Parachinar city on Friday.
Authorities are currently monitoring the situate since so many people had to be hospitalised for the same affliction.
Everyone who got admitted to the hospital had one thing in common – the wedding food.
District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Qaiser Abbas alos confirmed that suspected food poisoning might the be primary cause for so many people falling ill.
According to health official, the suspected food poisoning may have triggered the gastrointestinal-related problems at the wedding.
Media reports indicated that over 200 people attended the wedding in Kurram district. Children were the majority who fell ill due to food wedding.
It merits a mention that those were hospitalised, some were later sent home following their treatment at the hospital.
The Assistant Commissioner of Parachinar is also currently monitoring the ongoing investigation behind the cause of massive outbreak.
