WEBDESK: The Bangladesh squad has officially landed in Lahore for their upcoming three-match T20 International (T20I) series against Pakistan. The matches will be held at Gaddafi Stadium on May 28, May 30, and June 1, 2025.
The first group of the Bangladesh squad touched down on Saturday night. This group includes players like Hasan Mahmud, Tanvir Islam, Parvez Hossain Emon, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, along with members of the support staff. Two more groups are expected to arrive in the coming days.
Ahead of the series, both teams will take part in practice sessions on May 26 and 27 at Gaddafi Stadium. A joint press conference featuring both team captains is scheduled for May 27 to mark the start of the much-awaited tour.
Originally, a five-match series was being discussed, possibly spread across different cities, including Faisalabad. However, due to logistical and scheduling issues, it was reduced to a three-match series, all hosted in Lahore.
The Bangladesh squad’s arrival follows an official agreement between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and his counterparts at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Naqvi expressed gratitude to BCB officials, calling the series a “positive development for cricket between the two nations.”
Pakistan’s squad for the series includes key players such as Salman Ali Agha (captain), Shadab Khan (vice-captain), Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Haris, and Saim Ayub, among others.
This tour is expected to be a boost for cricket fans in both countries, especially with the Bangladesh squad featuring young talent and experienced players aiming to prove themselves on foreign soil. Security and hospitality arrangements have been finalized to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience for the visitors.
With the Bangladesh squad now in Pakistan, the countdown to the series opener has officially begun – promising exciting cricket action between two competitive sides.
