BAN vs NZ: New Zealand win toss, choose to bowl first

WEBDESK: New Zealand have won the toss and elected to field first against Bangladesh in the ICC Champions Trophy match on Monday in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Mitchell Santner has confirmed two changes to his side for the BAN vs NZ game. Kyle Jamieson in for Nathan Smith, and Ravindra into the middle order for an unwell Daryl Mitchell.

“Looks like a very good wicket, can get better to bat on,” Santner says. “We’ve been doing a lot of good stuff. Rawalpindi is a different challenge.”

Najmul Hussain Shanto, on the other hand, have made two changes to their side from their last game out against India in the Champions Trophy. Mahmudullah and Rana will play the BAN vs NZ game in place of Soumya Sarkar and Tanzim Hassan.

“He very exciting, the way he has bowled the last few years, the pace and bounce,” said the Bangladesh captain regarding the exciting young fast bowler Rana. On the fightback against India, Shanto adds: “It gives us a lot of confidence, the way we batted in the middle overs against a quality team.”
