The rumour was spreading fast on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). It appeared as a graphic post and was wrongly attributed to the website Siasat.pk.
According to Azaad Fact Check, the viral post falsely claimed that General Bajwa sent his people to Dr Amjad at Swat Circuit House and said the only way to finish Imran Khan in Pakistan and KP was to bring back the Taliban for three years Shandana Gulzar’s revelation.
But Azaad Fact Check has confirmed that this statement was never made by Shandana Gulzar, and Siasat.pk never published such a story.
Their investigation found that the actual source of the claim is former Prime Minister Imran Khan himself. A video clip shows Imran Khan openly admitting that his government followed a policy of resettling the Taliban in Pakistan.
This clip reveals that the idea of bringing the Taliban back was not someone else’s doing it was the policy of the Imran Khan led government.
