Azaad fact check debunks false claims about Pakistan Army Brigadier circulated by RAW-linked account

Webdesk: Azaad fact check has identified another attempt at spreading misinformation. This time, it was a miscreant of R&AW due to yesterday’s events at Srinagar Airport.

A RAW-affiliated, India-sponsored social media account on X, formerly Twitter, has claimed that “A brigadier of the Pakistan Army’s Engineering Corps has been found guilty of three serious crimes.”

This laughable attempt can be seen as a rather foolish attempt to respond to the recent Srinagar incident, as per Azaad fact check.

The account has absentmindedly used the word “CROPS” rather than “CORPS.”

The account further states that, “the intelligence agencies have launched a wide-ranging internal inquiry against him and he may face a ‘court martial’ under the Pakistan Army Act sooner or later.”

All these statements made by this account are false and have been debunked by Azaad’s fact check.

However, the account further makes several false claims.

Flase claims made: debunked by Azaad fact check

Kidnapping and Blackmail:
  • Accused of abducting a Pakistani citizen, Usman Kunda, from his home in Rawalpindi, using two men posing as ISI/MI officers.
  • Blackmailed Usman and extorted Rs6.5 million from him.
  • Allegedly labelled Usman a “RAW agent” in a voice recording obtained by intelligence agencies.
Personal Dispute and Crypto Investment:
  • The conflict reportedly began after Brigadier Sajjad’s wife lost Rs400,000 in a crypto investment facilitated by Usman, a gym trainer in Islamabad.
  • This led the officer to forbid his wife from further contact, accusing Usman of being linked to Indian intelligence.
Sexual Misconduct in Poland:
  • Accused of engaging in sexual relations with Polish women during his stay in Poland.
  • Intelligence agencies have reportedly gathered solid evidence of these acts.
Contact with an Indian Woman in Canada:
  • Allegedly befriended an Indian woman via Facebook and continued communication through WhatsApp.
  • Held in-person meetings with her at Tim Hortons and hotels in Toronto, Canada.
  • Considered a grave security breach and violation of the Pakistan Army Act.
Ongoing Intelligence Probe:
  • Intelligence agencies have collected his travel history, call records, social media chats, and incriminating audio recordings.
  • Canadian authorities have been asked to share CCTV footage of his meetings in Toronto.
  • The matter may lead to court-martial proceedings under the Pakistan Army Act.

All these claims are nothing but fabrications. Azaad fact check debunks these claims.

False rumours are circulated on social media and elsewhere, usually without confirmation, and are often viral and distorted.

Remaining linked with credible sources will help to provide the audience with the correctly framed, timely, and responsible information.
