Webdesk: A video that became viral on social media recently, alleging the killing of six Pakistani soldiers in an attack by the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), has been revealed as counterfeit by Azaad Fact Check.
Azaad Fact Check reported that the imagery presented in the video violates the law of physics and can be a part of a larger propaganda operation aimed at by Indian social media accounts.
The Indian RAW-backed account Baba Banaras was the original poster of the video, which stated that the Baloch Liberation Front had already released a video of an assault where 6 Pakistani Punjabi soldiers were killed. However, Azaad Fact Check would later uncover that it is a deepfake video.
Azaad Fact Check reports that the account behind the disinformation is believed to be linked to the IT cell of India’s intelligence agency RAW. The platform conducted a detailed forensic analysis of the video, identifying it as misleading, edited, and a classic example of deepfake content.
Among the most tell-tale signs of manipulation was the staging of a light tactical military vehicle supposedly struck by an improvised explosive device (IED), but conveniently shown still intact, having sustained no damage whatsoever.
Azaad Fact Check has flagged a deepfake video circulated by an India-based X account for spreading misinformation. They noted that lightweight military equipment would not be capable of sustaining the full blast of such an explosion, and therefore, the whole scene would not be scientifically possible.
Additional technical assessment by Azaad Fact Check held that artificial intelligence tools and advanced visual effects have likely been used to fake the footage. The team reached the conclusion that the video is artificially produced and is intended to mislead the audience and promote a fake agenda.
“The video shows a light tactical vehicle enduring an IED attack with its structural integrity preserved, a scenario that defies the laws of physics,” said Azaad Fact Check. “This indicates the video’s creator ignored fundamental physical principles in crafting the deepfake.”
Azaad Fact Check stressed that this case highlights how certain online networks operating from India, particularly those believed to be backed by RAW, are actively involved in spreading falsehoods and anti-Pakistan propaganda through digital platforms.
The video has been labelled a manipulated, deepfake production, intended not only to mislead viewers but also to create confusion and damage Pakistan’s image internationally.
