Webdesk: Azaad Fact Check has flagged another piece of misinformation being shared on social media. This time, it’s a ChatGPT-generated text that some users are spreading using a fake reference to an Air Commodore. A digital forensic analysis by the Azaad Fact Check team confirms that the content was made using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Several clues in the writing exposed its artificial origin. One clear giveaway was the vocabulary. The bunches of words followed the typical patterns used in GPT prompts, with a repeated rhythm and groupings of abstract terms like “rage, betrayal, ” and ” resentment,” the kind of phrasing rarely seen in authentic military reflections.

Another sign that the team identified was the odd formatting. Internal section headers appeared in the middle of paragraphs, a layout characteristic that is often seen in AI-generated content but not in writing shaped by real-world field experience.

There were also signs of unnatural mixing in the language. Phrases like “monsoon rain” and “Republic” reflect idioms from different cultural sources, suggesting a blend of internet-sourced material rather than the personal voice of a single officer.

Some lines stood out for their artificial symmetry, like the line “If people no longer mourn with you, that is your problem, not theirs.” According to experts, this kind of balanced sentence structure is typical of transformer-based models, not the way service members usually write, which is more direct and action-focused.

The use of recycled metaphors such as “brick by brick” and “boiling over” also raised red flags. These are typical phrases generated by the AI, though they are less likely to be found in a real military text, where phrases can be related to first-hand experiences.

Lastly, there were no emotional indicators as would typically be displayed in veteran reflections, like calling out the names of fallen brothers or references to traditions held over time in the mess. The fact-checking team believes that the lack of this information further accentuated the artifice of the piece.

The post, which has been confirmed to have been generated by AI, is another instance of how synthetic materials are being falsely advertised as legitimate testimonies. Azaad calls on the reader to check sources and exercise logical thought and judgement prior to posting such content on the internet.
