WEBDESK: The group B match of the Champions Trophy between Australia and South Africa faces the risk of being washed out due to rain as the toss got delayed on Tuesday, 25th February.
Australia and South Africa, both coming off confident wins in their opening games, will battle it out in Rawalpindi at the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
The upcoming match has been delayed by consistent rain and the cover are on the pitch, with the toss yet to take place.
The last time the two sides met at an ICC event, was at the ICC Cricket World Cup where they played out a close-fought game in the semi finals of the tournament.
Despite several key members missing for Australia, the Aus vs SA game promises to be just as engaging as the one that they played out in the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
In recent games, South Africa defeated Afghanistan with ease, showcasing a complete performance that saw them win by 107 runs. On the other hand, Australia were pegged back in their first innings against England as Ben Duckket (165 runs) was unleashed and helped England to a record-breaking Champions Trophy total of 351/8.
However, what followed was a sensational comeback, as Josh Inglis & co. chased down the target with 15 balls to spare.
With both teams off to winning starts, they’ll look to strengthen their claims for a final-four spot with a win today.
