Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has recently become the most searched personality in Pakistan, according to Google Trends.
As per Google data, the search interest for “Aurangzeb” peaked at 2:00 am on 12 May, marking the highest point in the past week. Public interest has remained strong since then, reflecting the growing popularity of Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb.
His rising fame on social media is attributed to his engaging manner of speaking during a recent news briefing, his evident professional expertise, and his humorous delivery. In a viral video clip, Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb can be heard saying, “I will pick up the conversation from where we left off yesterday — PAF versus IAF ended six-nil in our favour.”
This statement was made in the context of the reported downing of six Indian Air Force aircraft by Pakistan, including three Rafales, one SU-30, one MiG-29, and one drone. He stated that the Pakistan Air Force launched Operation Bunyan Marsous in the early hours of 6 and 7 May in response to Indian attacks, with the goal of delivering a strong counter to strikes on civilian areas.
Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb also noted that, for the first time since 1971, the PAF had targeted a significant number of Indian airbases.
He added that utmost caution was exercised during Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes, ensuring that civilian infrastructure was not targeted. Meanwhile, in India, one of the most searched terms has been “Ceasefire meaning,” which was reportedly looked up over 10 million times.
