WEBDESK (Azaad English): Aashiqui 2 is returning to movie screens twelve years after its inaugural release in 2013 starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles. The re-release of Aashiqui 2 happened after the big screen return of “Sanam Teri Kasam” which successfully received positive audience feedback with Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane in the lead roles.
According to Indian media Actor Salil Acharya shared the film news as he appeared at a recent event and played the role of Aryan in “Aashiqui 2.” The director Mohit Suri disclosed to actor Salil Acharya that they would re-release both Aashiqui 2 and Awarapan starring Emraan Hashmi.
Salil Acharya announced and said “We all are very excited.”
When Aashiqui 2 first appeared in theatres it achieved tremendous financial success by becoming a leading Hindi film of 2013. Through its romantic storyline about singer Rahul Jaykar (Aditya Roy Kapur) and musician Aarohi Keshav Shirke (Shraddha Kapoor) the film won remarkable audience engagement. The screen partnership between the main actors along with heartwarming music contributed to the film’s long-lasting popularity.
The musical tracks from the movie held the key to achieving commercial success for the film. Critics have declared “Aashiqui 2” soundtrack as one of the top musical albums of its decade thus cementing its mark on Bollywood’s musical history.
The action to bring “Aashiqui 2” back to theaters follows a widespread pattern in which old classic movies return to cinemas for current and future audiences to watch on screen. On the other hand Salman Khan returns with high-octane action through the fresh teaser of his upcoming action movie ‘Sikandar’. The movie will be released on Eid-ul-fiitar.
