PESHAWAR: Former speaker of the National Assembly and senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Asad Qaiser has said that the federal government is responsible for establishing peace and law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Talking to media outside Peshawar High Court, the former speaker said that terrorism is the subject of foreign policy. “Terrorism is happening in the border areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Peace in the country is related to foreign policy,” he said. He said that Afghan policy must be reviewed.
He said that the constitution and law are not currently being implemented in the country; therefore, all political parties of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should review the Afghan policy in collaboration with the government.
Asad Qaiser alleged that there is no such thing as a law in Pakistan, even the businesses and lands of PTI leaders are being destroyed in Punjab, crops are being burned and even animals are being seized.
The PTI leader further said that the right to freedom of expression is being taken away through the ‘PECA’ Act. He said the government passed the PECA amendment Act from the Parliament despite everyone was protesting.
He said that no one is even accepting the existence of the current Parliament, therefore this legislation has no status.
Asad Qaiser claimed that all the legislation made by the current government will be abolished. He said that there should be no law that curbs basic and human rights.
He said that he learned a lot from reading Bacha Khan during his stay in jail. He said that they are gathering top leaders of all schools of thought on February 26-27 to make a comprehensive plan.
