A court in Islamabad has issued arrest warrants for human rights lawyer Imaan Mazari and Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) leaders Ali Wazir and Manzoor Pashteen.
A hearing related to their case was going on, however, the session was adjourned until April 26.
The warrants were issued due to their repeated failure to appear in a case, accused them of organising a protest that allegedly disrupted public order.
Recently, Imaan Mazari and her husband got arrested after she and her husband exchanged harsh words with the traffic police following their attempt to remove the road blockades placed for the visiting England team’s traffic protocol.
Ali Wazir is a former lawmaker and co-founder of PTM.
In 2023, Mazari and Wazir also got arrested in Islamabad.
Moments before the arrest, Imaan Mazari posted on X that “unknown persons” were breaking down the security cameras in her home and that the gate to her house was “jumped over”.
The arrests came a day Imaan Mazari and Wazir participated in a PTM rally in the capital.
