In a tearful live video shared on her YouTube channel, Apoorva opened up about the intense backlash, personal trauma, and public humiliation she endured following the controversial episode.
Apoorva Mukhija Breaks Down
In her live video, Apoorva Mukhija broke down in tears as she recalled how painful the situation had been—not just for her, but for her family too. “It was dehumanizing,” she said. “I cried so much. I felt like I made my dad live his worst nightmare.”
She also admitted to cracking jokes in poor taste under pressure, saying, “When I heard them later, I didn’t find them funny. I don’t know why I said those things—maybe just to seem cool.” She sincerely apologized, promising to be more mindful moving forward.
Apoorva Mukhija said she was unaware of the scale of the controversy until someone told her about discussions on social media platform X. She initially thought the backlash was about another influencer, but quickly realized it involved her. “I had no clue it was me. I thought it was Ranveer Allahabadia’s problem,” she said.

The controversy began after an unreleased episode of India’s Got Latent reportedly featured a heated moment involving Apoorva Mukhija. According to Apoorva, she was invited to the show by Samay Raina, whom she met at an influencer event in August 2024. As a fan of the show, she was thrilled at the opportunity, even canceling prior commitments to attend the shoot.
However, the experience took a sharp turn. During a long 6-7 hour shoot, tensions escalated when a member of the audience made inappropriate comments about her. Apoorva responded emotionally, and her statements, meant to call out the disrespect, ended up stirring controversy on social media. The episode never aired, but clips and discussions began circulating online, sparking outrage.
